Gordon Fahrni House is a nine-storey, 42-suite multi-unit residential building located in Vancouver, British Columbia, operated by Brightside Community Homes Foundation. The building is undergoing a deep energy retrofit as part of Brightside’s broader portfolio-wide initiative to reduce operational greenhouse gas emissions and transition its housing stock toward net-zero performance by 2035.

The project is supported through the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation’s Canada Greener Affordable Housing (CGAH) program, which provides funding for comprehensive retrofits in existing affordable housing. Gordon Fahrni House was identified as one of Brightside’s early pilot buildings based on its emissions-reduction potential and suitability for a whole-building performance upgrade.
