Castle Rock Family Housing is a 40-unit subsidized rental townhouse development in Squamish, British Columbia, operated by the Sea to Sky Community Services Society. The project provides two-, three-, and four-bedroom homes within a multi-building residential complex serving family households in the Sea-to-Sky corridor.

As part of a mechanical upgrade to the existing development, a suite-level ventilation strategy was incorporated using a combination of LUNOS e² Shorts and LUNOS e²60 Shorts. The system was designed at the individual dwelling-unit level, eliminating the need for centralized ducting serving multiple homes.

Rather than applying a uniform equipment package across all suites, the ventilation configuration varied by suite type and layout, as reflected in the mechanical documentation.

Castle Rock serves as a practical illustration of how LUNOS can be tailored to suit varying layouts. The configuration responds to room count, exterior wall availability, and airflow distribution needs, reinforcing the inherent in the application of LUNOS.

At the dwelling level, regenerative LUNOS e² pairs maintain balanced airflow within primary living areas, while LUNOS e²60 units provide additional localized capacity where required. Because each home operates independently using alternating regenerative airflow cycles, balance is maintained over time within the suite. The volume of air supplied is offset by the volume exhausted, supporting pressure stability and predictable air movement without reliance on shared shafts or centralized ductwork.

Installed directly through exterior walls, the system delivers ventilation precisely where required — bedrooms, living areas, and occupied spaces — without retrofitting building-wide infrastructure. The result is a distributed, balanced ventilation strategy implemented at the suite level across the development.
